Mechanical Technician

**Key Performance Areas but not limited to the following**:

- Ability to assemble components & systems. Installation & Integration of systems/ sub-assemblies on standard products & project
- based builds, such as Air dive container systems & components, Sat systems & components, Renewable energy products, Standard products.
- Servicing of Rental equipment & customer owned equipment. Fault finding (Guided by Production Engineers / Technicians, Service Engineers or Project Managers) by Inspection & testing (mechanical) and reporting of findings.
- Do Factory acceptance testing (FAT), testing to industry standards (IMCA, 3rd Party etc., instructions issued by Production Engineers / Technicians, Service Engineers or Project Managers by means of Inspection Reports & FAT’s), such as: Pressure & Leak testing, Calibration check of analyzers & gauges, Load testing, Functional & performance verification testing, Gas analysis/Purity, Setting of Regulators, PRV’s, Check Valves, Visual Inspections, Cleanliness (such as verification of O2 Cleaning) etc.
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings (structural, assembly, [process and instrumental).
- All activities must be executed in accordance with UH’s Integrated Management System (IMS) to ensure compliance to the company’s ISO accreditation.

- Based on an operational and client requirement, Unique Hydra (Pty)Ltd have to operate beyond the territorial limits of South Africa, either on its own or in cooperation with one or more international partner. This requires for skilled and qualified staff to travel abroad in order for the company to satisfy the need of the client, not limited to commissioning, repairs and maintenance, in successfully completing projects outside of the borders of South Africa
- This position will require national/international travel and the Company Offshore-policy will dictate

**Education / Experience**:
An N3 or NCV Level 4 in the field of Mechanical Engineering, competence Based Modular Training (CMBT) would be advantageous. 3 to 5 Years’ experience is required with a minimum of 2 years as “in-field” experience in a related industry. Knowledge pertaining to the commercial diving industry would be advantageous. A Code 14 or Forklift license will also be advantageous.
