Head of Product

We have a Position available for a Head of Product in the Hartbeespoort dam area. We are seeking a driven individual to join this dynamic group, responsible for all sites. The successful applicant will be responsible to ensure optimum utilization of all laboratory resources, to effect quality and timeous results to our customers. The individual will be instrumental in securing the technical competency and relevance within the company in the current and any new analytical fields, which may be envisaged as part of its strategy. The position reports to the CEO.

The duties expected of the successful applicant are as follows but not limited to: Responsible for operational efficiency and cost management: Oversee the planning and performance of technical work which include chemical, physical, and microbiological testing at all sites. Oversee the product intake, sample preparation, laboratory testing and reporting processes. Manage operational costs, resource utilization, and supply chain processes to drive cost optimization initiatives. Oversee that the laboratory information management system (LIMS) is utilized correctly and efficiently. Collaborate with Enablement, Research and Development and Quality Assurance departments to ensure seamless integration of product development and operational processes. Work closely with stakeholders to establish clear communication channels, streamline decision-making processes, and foster a culture of cross-functional collaboration.

Responsible for operational excellence and process optimization: Implement and drive continuous improvement initiatives, lean methodologies, and best practices. Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with product strategy and operational objectives. Monitor the performance of existing products in the market and identify opportunities for product optimization.

Responsible for the quality of output: - Ensure that all processes, procedures, and work instructions in all departments comply with ISO 17025:2017 and SANAS R & T documents. Ensure that all the requirements of especially the technical requirements of ISO 17025, are followed and recorded, with special reference to staff competency, instrumentation, and method validation. Assist to enhance quality execution and meeting of accreditation compliance requirements.

Overall responsible and accountable for adherence to laboratory specific compliance with the OSH Act and other requirements assisted by Enablement Department and take on role and responsibilities as deputy 16.2 appointee. Responsible for employee related administration.

Basic Salary on offer ranges from R 65 000.00 to R 80 000.00 with benefits to be discussed.
