Our client, a well-established and respected law firm based in Somerset West, offering professional legal services across various sectors is on the hunt for a Paralegal, to join their team. If you are looking for a practice offering the opportunity to train in a professional working environment with exposure to various aspects of law (deceased estates, conveyancing, commercial law and curatorship), then this is the perfect place for you. Ideally you will have a minimum of 2 - 3 years’ experience within a similar role.

You will be responsible for:
Ensure efficient and effective support to the Legal Dept for maximum output in the delivery of legal services and to act as an intermediary between the Legal Team and Internal / External contacts.

To undertake substantive legal work including preparation of first drafts and first legal review of standard agreements for Legal Adviser and Legal Counsel.

To manage allocated matters from inception to resolution under supervision from Legal Counsel

To manage the agreements signing process

Address all alerts, upload and manage all agreements / documents

Manage the progress of agreements

Preparation and drafting of template Agreements

Drafting first drafts of CDAs, SLAs and Addenda

Draft first draft within 72 hours at the latest, ideally within 48 hours

Drafting non-standard agreements from time to time on instruction by Legal Adviser and Legal Counsel Special Projects:
Assist in implementing projects e.g. POPIA that will assist in ensuring business compliance with legislation, enhance business efficiencies, better enable business

Assist in drafting pleadings, including requests and responses for discovery, initial appearances, answers, and memorandums of law

**Education**:
Matric / Grade 12

Recognised professional paralegal qualification and or legal secretarial qualification

Additional Legal qualifications/courses are a bonus

Experience in Contract Drafting/Legal Agreements is essential

Familiarity with legal terminology is an advantage

Proven track record as a senior legal secretary

Relevant experience in a legal practice or corporate environment is essential

**Salary**: R10,000.00 - R15,000.00 per month
