**Overview**:
Purpose of the role is to: Ensure quality control requirements are met by timeous analytical method of analysis on production blends against a set specification. QC approval or rejection of blends / verification of traded material against supplier specification
**Qualifications**:
Matric
National Dipoma / Advance Diploma: Analytical Chemistry
**Experience**:
Minimum 1-3 years’ laboratory experience
**Duties**:
Approval of samples using laboratory analytical methods of analysis to ensure compliance against specification
Prevention of non-conforming product from being dispatched to customer.
Timeous closure of quality orders on AX for both production and traded goods to release stock and for COA availability
Ensure lab is compliant to all SHEQ requirements QC approval of production samples / blends by conducting analytical / laboratory analysis against a set specification
Daily calibration of laboratory instruments maintenance of external calibrations of lab equipment
Daily effluent analysis
Analysis of incoming raw materials (Physical QC Analysis)
Verification of supplier COA’s for each of the raw materials
Validating and closing of Quality Orders for production on AX
Validating and closing Quality Orders for raw materials on AX
Compiling COA’s
Maintaining NSF certification by ensuring all NSF certified products carry the NSF stamp on COA’s (Mobeni & Blackheath) Packaging / couriering of samples preparation and standardization of reagents for the Protea Blackheath and Mobeni site.
Counter testing / verification of ferric sulphate test results and conduct additional analysis of Chlorides / Acid Value for which BH does not have capacity and equipment.(Mobeni)
Packing / storing / maintaining of retention samples
Conduct Rig Tests (Lab batch) polymerization for DMDAAC Monomer to PolyDADMAC prior to production scale.(Mobeni)
Review and updating of laboratory work instructions verification of manufacturing and expiry date on batch sticker to information on AX to ensure consistency between batch sticker and COA Ensure all SHEQ requirements are adhered to (Waste Management / Proper storage of chemicals (compatibility) / Safety)
High level of chromatography knowledge and experience (Wadeville / Mobeni & Jacobs) Sampling of products from emerging markets, packaging & couriering of samples to Chemtech (Sasolburg)
Processing of requisitions on AX for external analysis, reagents and consumables Verification of manufacturing and expiry date on batch sticker to information on AX to ensure consistency between batch sticker and COA
