**RCL FOODS** is seeking a **Fixed Asset Controller **to join our **Group Services Division.** The role will be based in **Westville **and will report to the **Fixed Asset Accountant. RCL FOODS **is looking for an individual who will be responsible for making all finance system workflow and operational decisions that fall within the ambit of responsibility. **RCL FOODS **entrusts the individual to control all fixed asset transactions, capital and operating costs as well as all immoveable and movable assets within the scope of responsibility.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:
**Control of Finance leases**:
Prepare input template for individual leases for upload into the lease app (work in conjunction with initiator and sourcing).

Raise Right of Used Assets (ROU) and liability in SAP / Syspro based on present value calculations.

Prepare the adjustment journals for lease liability, right of use asset, interest and depreciation.

**Asset Control & Review**:
**S**AP**:
Review and sign off on capitalisation schedules for multiple regions.

Review asset master data for all regions. Master data includes naming conventions, asset categorisations, depreciation and tax allowances etc.

Define settlement rules and capture onto SAP.

Review disposals and movement of asset forms prior to capture. Review and authorize capex payments for multiple regions.

Review all monthly recons prepared by the asset clerks.

Analyse and evaluate results from physical verifications, useful lives review and nil net book value assets for each business unit / region.

Link investment order hierarchies for unbudgeted projects. Process any post-capitalisations or write-ups required

Manage the ongoing process of assessing assets within the redundant yard cost centres to determine if the asset should be kept on the fixed asset register or scrapped as it cannot be used.

Monthly split of work in progress movements and capex categories for the additions report.

Assist with split of month by month WIP movement (spend) for capex forecasts per project per region.

Prepare and drive policies and procedures across all regions.

**Syspro**:
***Review purchase requisitions and create and release a purchase order.

Review and sign off on capitalisation schedules.

Assign an asset number to the asset to be capitalised.

Review asset master data. Master data includes naming conventions, asset categorisations, depreciation and tax allowances etc.

Post costs to assets.

Review disposals and movement of asset forms prior to capture.

Review all monthly PO and GRN trackers prepared by the asset clerks.

Prepare the monthly WIP schedule for circulation to the Business Units.

Analyse and evaluate results from physical verifications, useful lives review and nil net book value assets for each business unit / region.

Process any post-capitalisations or write-ups required.

Manage the ongoing process of assessing assets within the redundant yard cost centres to determine if the asset should be kept on the fixed asset register or scrapped as it cannot be used.

Assist with split of month-by-month WIP movement (spend) for capex forecasts per project per region.

Prepare and drive policies and procedures across all regions.

**Reporting**:
Compile and maintain relevant statistics for asset movements

Complete and compile all relevant month end reports and reconciliations Assist with generation of monthly finance lease reports

Assist with year-end schedules within the ambit of responsibility

**Team Management**:
Lead and develop staff within the context of the Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act and the Skills Development Act.

Performance development and target setting for team of 4 fixed asset clerks. Provide system training (Syspro & SAP) to Fixed Asset Clerks when required. Monitor staff performance and provide regular feedback.

Manage staff activities, ensuring service levels are met and protocols are adhered to. Coach and support staff where necessary to achieve objectives.

Manage staff leave and general time management issues in line with organisational deliverables and standards.

Champion staff training and development through the utilisation of available training opportunities or contributing to the development of new training solutions in collaboration with national training specialists.

Conduct regular performance appraisals with subordinates.

Develop and manage a high performance team which is capable of interacting with other functional disciplines in order to solve problems within the commercial arena.

**Minimum Requirements**:
Diploma / Degree in Finance / Accounting.

SAP and / or Syspro (Modules Fixed Assets) - Advantageous.

Computer literacy: Proficiency in Excel.

Fixed assets management principles and practices.

Technical accounting and tax knowledge (specifically related to fixed assets).

Must have 2 years’ experience in fixed assets or similar role.

Must have 1 year experience supervis
