- The primary focus would be required to investigate and resolve, from an actuarial point of view, issues encountered on the system during servicing, ensuring that the product and business rules are adhered to. This position is required to ensure that the life products are implemented correctly on the system, to identify where the system is not adhering to the product and business rules and to resolve issues encountered during servicing relating to actuarial systems. The role is unique as it acts as a bridge between the purely actuarial product development teams and the physical implementation on the system, it contributes a unique combination of actuarial and IT skills to the actuarial product development team.**Areas of responsibility may include but not limited to**
- Resolve production defects (QC’s) to allow policies to continue functioning as intended.
- Investigate defects to identify root causes of recurring defects
- Monitor the implementation of products and benefits
- Might occasionally be required to assist product development team.
- Test and validate new products and benefits and their implementation on the system

**Education and Experience**

**Essential**:

- Matric with Mathematics or Applied Mathematics
- Relevant Bachelor’s / Honours degree in Actuarial Science from an accredited institution
- At least 1 years related work experience
- Completion of at least 3 technical actuarial exams

**Advantageous**:

- Nearly or newly qualified FASSA (or international equivalent)
- At least 1 - 3 years of working experience as an actuarial analyst / actuary preferably in the life insurance industries
- Completion of all technical actuarial exams
- N311 exam passed

**Technical Skills and Knowledge**

**Essential**:

- Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.
- Experience in Actuarial Modelling, Problem Solving, Data Analysis and information science
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Strong statistical skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.

**Advantageous**:

- Experience in working with Databases (SQL)
- Knowledge of the Life Insurance market
- Prophet experience
- Proficient in at least one of R, Python, Spark interpreters or similar
