The London Basketball Association is pleased to announce that an opportunity has arisen for a Grant Writer to join our small but intensely committed organisation.
**Grant Writer will be required to assist and lead on key areas of LBA’s exceptional work. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a vibrant and innovative charity and help bring enjoyment and vitality to young people from deprived and isolated communities. The majority of the tasks will require using your own computer.**
**Remote Position - 12 Months min. commitment**
**Basic Salary**:
- **£350 **(Submit 3x Grants & 3x Reports per month)
- **£35 **for submitting a grant.
- **4% commission **forSuccessful grants Caped at **Max GBP 800**
**Any grant above £30K will be discussed/agreed on case by case basis**

Main Purpose:
**Key Responsibilities**:
- To liaise and collaborate with internal team members with fundraising projects, and develop relationships with key stakeholders.
- Write, submit and manage varying grant proposals on behalf of the LBA.
- To identify grant funding opportunities that will be beneficial to LBAs' cause.
- To provide prospective funders with supporting documents.
- To contribute to the development of funding relationships and partnerships.
- To be engaged in fundraising with the Corporate Sector to generate funding income and non-funding support.
- To maintain records with computer databases i.e. Google Drive.
- To deliver a high standard of customer service to participants of fundraising activities.
- To provide efficient administrative and support services to the fundraising team.
- Research awards, interns and potential partners.
- To support with other Ad-hoc responsibilities.
**Required Knowledge, Experience and Skills**:
**Knowledge and Experience**
- Proficient knowledge of fundraising methods and committed LBAs cause and mission.
- Proficient with measuring and reaching business income goals.
- Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources.
- Minimum 3 years experience in grant writing
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Packages such as MS-Word and Excel.
- A willingness to remain abreast of the latest trends, best practices, and ethics.
- Knowledge of Diary Management to prioritise work according to deadlines.

- The ability to plan work and meet deadlines (deadline-driven).
- Able to work under own autonomy or as part of a team.
- Ability to work proactively and achieve results with and without close supervision.
- Discretion and an understanding of confidentiality issues.
- Ability to adapt to a flexible and varying work schedule.
- Clear, precise and compelling drafting, writing and research skills.
- Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company.
- Significant communication (verbal, written, listening) skills.
- Teamwork: volunteers should work well as part of a team and value diversity, as they will often be working with people of all different backgrounds and ages.
- Computer Knowledge and Skills.
- Has a positive attitude and a ‘can do’ approach - solution focused.
**Personal Requirements**:
- Own a computer or have secure access to one.
- Committed to working Monday - Friday.
- Able to work from home.

- Flexible and self-motivated.
**Salary**: R7,620.00 - R21,773.00 per month
**Education**:
- Bachelors (preferred)
**Experience**:
- Grant Writing: 3 years (required)
**Language**:
- Fluent English (preferred)
