Leading Retail Organization seeks a dynamic and suitably qualified / experienced Regional Buyer with Foods and Generalist Buying experience to join their team.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
Relevant Diploma / Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain or Similar

Minimum 4 - 6 years’ experience in a similar role preferably with a leading retail / manufacturing organization

Generalist / Foods buying experience (Min 2 - 4 years) - NOT Clothing

Ability to work cross-functionally

Strong Commercial and Financial acumen

Effective negotiator

Excellent influencing and communication skills

Able to build strong relationships

Good verbal and written communication skills (Fluent in Afrikaans and English)

Strong report writing skills

Able to compile supplier plans on a monthly basis

Willing to travel to stores on a regular basis

Willing to attend annual Trade Shows, Charity Events and other Company events

Valid driver’s license

RESPONSIBILITIES

Meet with suppliers on a regular basis

Negotiate pricing (deals)

Negotiate to hold list pricing for regional suppliers as long as possible in order to benefit in market place

Listing of new lines relevant to Company’s market and collect spend to launch these lines into the Company’s Franchise stores

Negotiate and collect Ad-hoc and Additional Advertising Spend and keep recons of these

Ensuring GMROI and GMROM are maintained

Assist stores with managing stock days as well as absolute stock for each supplier

Listing and meeting with all new suppliers interested in listing with the Company’s Franchise Group

Compile and implement Regional Promotions for new stores and re-launches

Resume responsibility for promotions for the region

Keep track of competitor pricing in the trade and ensure that Company is benefiting from best pricing in the region

Compile supplier plans on a monthly basis, which involves tracking sales as in as well as out, opposition pricing, margins and growth

Meet with KAM’s on a regular basis to obtain insight to Company’s position in the market place - plan accordingly to maximize sales

Forecasting of stock

Travelling to Stores and participate on Annual Charity Days, Trade Shows and Events
