Pharmacist

**PHARMACIST**

**Job Purpose**:
Dispensing of medication to in-patients and out-patients and follow all aspects of Good Pharmacy Practice as prescribed by the South African Pharmacy Council

**Requirements**:

- Matric compulsory
- Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree
- Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council as a Pharmacist
- Minimum of two years’ experience in a similar position
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Excellent planning and organizational skills
- A pleasant disposition and excellent interpersonal/communications skills are vital
- Contribute actively to the multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to handle pressure

**Key Outputs**:

- Deputize by assuming reasonable responsibilities in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager
- Train and supervises Pharmacist Assistants as assigned
- Facilitate the understanding of systems and policies to all pharmacy staff
- Facilitate the updating of pharmacy systems and policies
- Provide guidance and consultation regarding pharmaceutical care
- Maintain and sustain effective working relationships with all medical staff
- Build relationships with wards to facilitate the understanding and updating of Pharmacy systems and policies
- Keep abreast of current trends and practices in pharmaceutical care
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of all aspects related to Good Pharmacy Practice
- Submit annual required CPDs to SAPC
- Register as a tutor for both interns and pharmacist's assistants with SAPC
- Attend to emergency callouts when required
- Participate in stock control and stock take
- Accurate and safe dispensing to both retail and hospital patients
- Review and advise on all SOP’s
- Attend operational meetings if and when required to do so
- Strictly adhering to all policies and procedures relating to this job description including those within the Company
