**Minimum Qualifications**

**and Experience**
- Grade 12/N3
- Degree or Diploma in Mining Engineering or Survey / Mineral

Resources Management.

Additional Qualifications:

- Chamber of Mines Elementary Certificate in Survey.

Skills:

- Computer literacy
- Draughting skills
- Software: MS Office, Autocad, Modelmaker, CAD Software,

Synchromine
- Mine design and scheduling user experience would be

advantageous.

Knowledge:

- 5 years experience in both underground and opencast mining

environment
- Experience in operational mine planning and scheduling
- Knowledge of both underground and opencast mining environment.

**Job Responsibilities : SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY**:

- Identify and assess level of continuous risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
- Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)
- Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate,

investigate and report SHEQ status.

**PEOPLE**:
Supervise the team:

- Ensure an enabling climate/culture
- Manage performance against set targets and competencies
- Ensure IDPs are linked to performance results and implemented as per plan
- Conduct career discussions and implement actions with all identified talent (quarterly)
- Ensure discipline is maintained (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.)
- Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels
- Conduct recruitment interviews
- Engage with production and service department employees on all mine planning and scheduling matters.

**CUSTOMERS**:

- Ensure Customer Satisfaction
- Ensure compliance to MHSA is adhered to and maintained
- Mining: Technical Services and Operational Management teams.

**BUSINESS PROCESSES**:
**Mine Planning**:

- Administration of planning calendar, protocols, and meetings for the mine
- Development and construction of monthly mine plans consistent with the achievement of the mine production and budgets targets
- Collect integrated geological and technical data necessary to conduct effective monthly mine designs and schedules for the mine
- Update monthly mine designs in AutoCAD
- Update monthly schedules
- Update designs and schedules on a daily, monthly, and quarterly basis
- Mine plans to be aligned with the mines drive towards zero harm, technical services and Corporate Strategy as well as legal

requirements
- Application and utilisation of standard mine planning techniques and

practices (Conventional and Mechanised)
- Conduct monthly production planning
- Monitor adherence to mine plans and designs
- Mine plans to be relevant, consistence and accurate in respect of the ore body characteristics, mining method and operational

requirements.
- Mine plans and designs to be reviewed regularly in order to optimise and maximise the mining throughputs
- Update mine schedules in line with changes in production targets
- Proactively identify production target compromising conditions, detailing the impact of those as input into managerial decisionmaking and problem solving
- Prepare plans required for planning review and presentations
- Planning non-compliances or irregularities to be escalated for action
- Pre-planning and monthly planning meeting attendance
- Develop L.O.M Plans.

Daily Production Management System:

- Conduct the monthly workplace setup
- Responsible for ensuring the logging of daily bookings
- Responsible for Syncromine report generation
- Daily production meeting attendance
- Assist mine overseers with weekly planning schedules.

**GROWTH**:

- Manage continuous improvement through Operational Excellence.
