**The Role**
- As, the Head of Product Management and Innovation for the TMC business area, the role will be responsible for directing all product development and management activities within the business areas in order to achieve low-risk, repeatable, market-driven solutions (inclusive of products and services). This role will be required to demonstrate a market-driven ethos inspired by a deep understanding of the targeted market segments, consumer needs and business strategy. This will be demonstrated by an ability to translate strategy into data-driven and compelling product solutions and proposals that create sustainable value.

**Requirements** Qualifications required to fulfil the role**
- Relevant B-degree or qualification in Business, Engineering or Marketing.
- A Postgraduate Degree in Marketing or Business Administration would be an advantage.

**Specific Work Experience, Knowledge and Skills required to fulfil the role**
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in product management in a manufacturing or B2B business context.
- Minimum of 3 years’ management experience in technical marketing or innovation.
- Track record in leading the design and deployment of sustainable solutions or products to market.
- Ability to develop, plan and implement product management strategies.
- Experience in formulating policy, and developing and implementing new procedures.
- Ability to communicate and interact at all levels of an organisation.
- Ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manage several projects.
- Ability to develop financial plans and manage resources.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial and economic data.
- Exceptional professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Risk management, finance, marketing and business acumen.

**Key Accountabilities**

Leadership:

- Lead, coach and develop a team of high performing product managers in order to increase their capability, commitment, drive and performance output so that the organization reaches its objectives, executes its strategies and progresses towards its vision.
- Create an environment built on trust, open and transparent communication, innovation and pro-active behaviours.

Market Intelligence
- Develop intimate knowledge of what appeals to our customer segments allowing us to penetrate and grow our market share, enjoying the maximum spend/applicable share of wallet from our targeted segments and customer groups.
- Work with key role players to collate and forecast sales statistics, cost data, profitability, customer and supplier activity to provide statistical information. Monitor and measure sales and margin versus target.
- Ensure that appropriate and accurate market data is maintained - e.g. a competitor database of product and pricing information, and the regular monitoring of competitor activity.
- Participation in relevant sector trade associations/forums in order to stay abreast of industry trends.

Drive Strategic Market Positions
- Assess current and future market trends to identify future market opportunities and threats through changes in the economic, technological and regulatory environment, customer base distribution channels, and
- Engage with the Exco’s & cross-functional teams in the business regarding appropriate product positioning and market strategies & NPD launch approvals.
- Put in place leading practices and marketing metrics to guide the development and deployment of products and marketing campaigns inclusive of; product branding, consumer segmentation, product positioning, and product messaging.
- Prepare, implement and regularly review the product marketing plan to ensure that strategic and tactical plans meet market trends, segmented customer requirements and business.

**Additional Requirements**
- Through the leadership of product managers:

- Build close and collaborative relationships with the sales teams to ensure the relevant value proposition is explained effectively and promoted actively to target customers such that price position is felt to be appropriate.
- Through the creation of tools, marketing and support material, ensure that the commercial teams are well equipped to drive argumentation that helps to deliver target share at a recognised and sustainable premium.
- Ensure relevance of system and product portfolio. Drive product changes and renewal to meet customer needs, working collaboratively with teams for fast, effective new system and product development.
- Liaising with Marketing Communications and managing the cost effective production and delivery of product marketing campaigns, literature, and other public relations activities.

Product Innovation and Commercialisation
- Ensure the appropriate rate of innovation on products through managing the product lifecycle
