Procurement Officer

**Qualification : Advantageous**

**Experience : Atleast 3 years work experience in the Plant Hire Industry. Incumbent must be knowledgeable on Truck and Plant spares.**

**Availability : Immediate**

**Own Transport is essential**

Some of the duties associated with this position:

- **Procurement**
- Follow and enforce the company’s procurement policies and procedures.
- Manage inventories and maintain accurate purchase and pricing records.
- Create an approved supplier listing which must be signed off by the Operations Manager and the Directors.
- Maintain healthy and professional supplier relationships.
- Researching and evaluate prospective suppliers.
- PO’s must be done for each order.
- Obtaining comparative quotations
- Work closely with the finance team to ensure that the cashflows are planned accordingly.
- Follow up on warranties/guarantees provided by Suppliers.
- **Service**
- A master log of all services needs to be maintained by the Procurement Officer.
- Procurement officer to follow up with the workshop manager on each site and the service register must be updated accordingly.
- Plan for scheduled maintenance by requesting information from the operations team.
- **Finance**
- Link in with the finance department on costs so that the cashflow can be planned accordingly.
- Update and manage the service register and share this with the Directors once a week (After Operations Manager review and sign off).
- **Breakdowns**
- Follow up on all breakdowns with the workshop manager to ensure that the vehicles/machines are being repaired timeously.
- Turnaround times to be minimised and delays to be escalated to the operations manager and the Director timeously.
- Follow up on all downtime and any delays due to abnormal circumstances to be escalated to the Operations Manager timeously.
