Consumable Buyer

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**:

- Minimum Educational Qualification Grade 12
- A National Diploma in Supply Chain Management or equivalent qualification
- A minimum of 1 - 3 years experience in the chemical/manufacturing/pharmaceutical industry
- SAP experience is required
- Must possess thorough knowledge and understanding (local and international) of the procurement and purchasing process within the manufacturing environment, i.e., chemical and/or pharmaceutical would be beneficial.

**JOB FUNCTIONS (Brief Summary)**:

- Ensure optimum stock levels of stationery is maintained in line with internal customer requirements
- Obtaining quotations for non-production spend items where required
- Generate purchase orders from requisitions for non-production spend consumables, reference standards, indirect non-stock consumables, indirect operating expenses, indirect travel, PPE, and Q-codes.
- Monitor and report on requisitions in process
- Optimisation of fast-moving stock items without causing stock-outs
- Follow up on outstanding orders and ensure timeous delivery of orders
- Adhoc administrative duties assigned in the department
- Responsible for the loading of new vendors and new item codes
- Ensure compliance with the company's affirmative procurement strategy where possible
- Meet affirmative procurement spending target
- Ensure all sections within the department maintain compliance with company OHSE standards and GMP standards
