Brief description

The position of Occupational Health nurse is to offer a professional and thorough medical assessment as per ILS policy and procedure for any client requested by ILS admin/ISS recruitment. A cost effective medical centre with proper stock management and reporting. To ensure compliance with Legislation - Occupational Health and Safety Act.

Tasks
- Conduct pre-employment full medical examination protocol for all individuals.
- Perform full annual medical examination protocol for all existing ISS employees.
- Provide a baseline health status and determining fitness for duty as per ILS developed templates.
- Conduct periodic health screening to early detect signs of health hazard for example drug or alcohol use.
- Identify and ensure early and prompt intervention measures to affected employees and referrals to appropriate functionaries of all staff.
- Report and assist with injuries on duty.
- Assess ability to work.
- Assess the health status of a worker.
- Present recommendations to line manager.
- Medical records should be recorder and made available to the admin of ILS.
- Stock taking should be done weekly.
- Stock to be purchased well in advance.
- Monthly reporting to Management on all medicals performed.
- Database compilation and reporting of billing by the 19th of annual medicals.

Qualifications and requirements
- A OHS degree, with an audio, Visio and Spiro certificates.
- Registration with the SNN Council and Dispensing qualification.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation such as LRA, EEA, BCEA, Nursing Act and OHSA.
- Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, actively look for ways to help people, and adjust actions concerning others' actions.
- Presentable and professional in working with any level of people.
