Purpose of the job

To protect PEP assets and maintain or improve store profitability by developing and implementing security and safety strategies for Dynamos and customers. This position will report to the Chief Executive of the Sales Department.

Key Responsibilities
- Loss Prevention Management
- Concept to implementation and roll out of procedures/processes relating to security operations, disaster events, service delivery disruptions, protest action and the management of all security related incidents
- Design, implement and management of the technical security systems standards
- Management of the group security operations center and related functions
- Oversee the Intelligence cycle through planning, collecting, processing, analyzing and dissemination of data to intelligence
- Guide the Investigation function from crime to court with the intention to enforce arrest and deliver convictions. Ensuring robust investigation of 500+ security incidents per year
- Day to day management of all security requirements with extensive report generation and analysis
- Budget Control
- Reporting to stakeholders on budget overview and management therefore
- Large budget value and expenditure management, head count, technology and general costs
- Leadership
- Embody the organisation's loss prevention strategy to achieve a stable and safe environment in which customers and the business may pursue their legitimate ends and objectives without disruption or harm and without fear of loss or injury.
- Taking responsibility for team training, coaching and performance within the company culture.
- Responsible for managing a team of 9 direct reports covering a range of functions - Security Systems and Technical, Security Operations Center (SOC), Investigations & Analysis, Incident Management and Response
- Providing extensive mentorship and development
- Search & selection, recruitment & developing the talent pool road map from concept to intent and achievement

Required Knowledge
- Minimum PSIRA Grade B (Essential)
- Bachelor's Degree in Forensics, Criminology, Business Management, or related field.(Advantage)
- Professional Industry Body Certifications Preferred (LPC, CPP, CSMP, CFE, etc) (Desirable)
- Retail experience (Essential)
- Military of Policing background (Essential)
- 10+ years’ experience at management level

Skills and Competencies
- Specialized industry and security/loss prevention training, and a track record of implementing a loss prevention program
- Proven ability to network within the local security and law enforcement community with existing working relationships
- Knowledge of cause and solution for avenues of loss within a retail, logistic and corporate environment
- In-depth knowledge of the criminal procedures act, criminal justice systems and organized threat analysis
- Enterprise Risk Management knowledge and experience (ISO 31000)
- Advanced Technical knowledge of security systems. (Alarms, CCTV, Access Control, EAS) (SAIDSA Bylaw 1-9)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent negotiation, communication, interpersonal and decision-making skills, supported by excellent presentation and project management skills
- Decisive leader with strong planning, organization and control
