**Job Title: Solar Technician**

We are seeking a skilled and experienced **Solar Technician** to join our team. As a Solar Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting solar energy systems for residential and commercial properties. Your role will involve working with a variety of solar equipment, including solar panels, inverters, batteries, and monitoring systems.

**Responsibilities**
- Install solar energy systems, including solar panels, mounting structures, wiring, and balance system components.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance of solar systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues, including electrical faults, connectivity problems, and equipment malfunctions.
- Conduct system performance evaluations and provide recommendations for system improvements or repairs.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure timely and successful completion of solar installations.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards throughout all installation and maintenance activities.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, including installation documentation, maintenance logs, and customer service reports.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Stay updated on the latest solar industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a Solar Technician or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of solar energy systems, components, and installation techniques.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Familiarity with electrical codes, regulations, and safety practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good time management and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Valid driver's license.
- Physical ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and lift heavy equipment when necessary.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in conducting site assessments and designing solar energy systems and installations.
- Certification or training in solar photovoltaic (PV) systems installation/ Trade test qualification.
- Knowledge of energy storage systems and hybrid solar solutions (AC/DC connection)
- Familiarity with solar monitoring and data analysis software.
- **Electrica**l or **Project Management** experience would be an advantage.

**Remuneration**

**Salary**: R18,000.00 - R22,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Durban, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Education**:

- High School (matric) (preferred)
