Embroidery Machinist

**Job Purpose**

Setting up embroidery machines, selecting pertinent tools and materials, troubleshooting equipment, and ensuring that all projects are completed to clients' specifications.

- Achieving 100% of hourly score target
- Achieving 100% of quality standard

**Key Duties**:

- Analysing and understanding project specifications and clients’ needs before starting each embroidery job
- Selecting the thread, fabric, frames, and designs appropriate to each job
- Setting up machines and supervising the embroidery process
- Carefully reading instructional manuals to ensure smooth troubleshooting and repair processes
- Performing regular machine and inventory inspections and reporting any issues or reordering stock as required
- Providing suggestions regarding the design, placement, and fabric and thread selection
- Drawing guides or pinning tissue paper patterns onto fabric
- Keeping track of work orders and updating records
- Ensuring that all orders are sent out in a timely manner

**Skills & Competencies**
- Matric / NQF 4 qualification or equivalent preferred. Will consider from Grade 10 upward.
- 5 - 10 years’ traceable experience as an Embroidery Machine Operator
- Working knowledge of embroidery machine mechanics, tensions & threading
- Ability to read a plot sheet and load designs
- Excellent eyesight or utilisation of corrective measures and attention to detail
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Innovating, meticulous and attentive to detail
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously - framing, filling out a score sheet, and watching the machine at the same time
- Self-starter with the ability to manage own time and activities effectively
- Able to operate effectively as part of a team and display team values
- Good verbal and written communication skills

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: R27,58 - R40,16 per hour

Expected hours: 42.5 per week

**Experience**:

- Embroidery Machinist: 5 years (required)
