Assistant Curator: Wildlife Animal Breeding Centre

**Bothongo Rhino & Lion Nature Reserve in Kromdraai, Krugersdorp seeks Assistant Curator: Wildlife Animal Breeding Centre**

**Experience**: Working with wild animals in captivity and hand-rearing of animals will be an advantage. Will be responsible for animal husbandry and behavior enrichment.

Feeding animals according to diet sheets, maintenance of enclosures and staff management.

Required to work with snakes and reptiles, Snake Handling certificate is mandatory.

Volunteers: Manage all volunteers/job shadows/community service

Compliance of OHS legislation and requirements.

Key Performance Areas of Responsibility: Animal Diets, Hand-rearing, Staff Management, Animal Welfare & Interactions, Administration and Record Keeping, Enclosure Management, Public Relations, Quality assurance and industry compliance / Permits, Staff Development, Filming etc.

**Requirements**:Minimum of 5 years working experience in the relevant field of conservation management.

Nature Conservation or relevant diploma or degree would be prerequisite. Computer literate in MS Office range.

Managerial experience

Required to work on weekends and Public Holidays

Snake Handling Certificate - Essential

Driver’s license is essential.

Assisting when required at the Wildlife Centre, working with the reptile keeper and act as their reliever.

Required to do snake shows to the public on
- & off-site
