**Job Advert Summary**:

- Administer the Occupational Health Management System by ensuring compliance with internal, external and legal healthcare standards.
- Provide quality nursing care as determined by regulatory bodies in order to contribute to optimal healthcare.

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Grade 12
- National Diploma or Degree in Nursing (B Cur / B.Sc.)
- National qualification in occupational health
- Primary healthcare qualification
- Audiometric certificate
- Spirometric course
- Two (2) Years’ experience as an Occupational Health Nurse and 1 year experience running a clinic in an Industrial and or Mining setting.
- Experience with casualty and emergency services would be highly advantageous
- Computer literacy
- Knowledge of ISO EMS 14001:2015, QMS 9001:2015 & OHS 45001:2018 systems
- Knowledge of nursing processes, procedures and techniques, health care policies, standards, and guidelines
- Understanding of safety management, behavioural safety and risk management framework, procedures, and systems
- Basic knowledge of Mine Health & Safety Act and Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Good communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Good people management and organisational skills
- Professionalism
- Be able to work alone and in a team

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Provide an efficient, cost-effective occupational health medical service through the provision of medical emergency, chronic care, and standard medicals to PPC Slurry employees and external contractors.
- Conducting pre-employment, periodical, and exit medical examinations in accordance with the protocols in place
- Monitor employee’s health by comparing periodic medical results with previous medical information to determine potential deterioration.
- Monitor employee exposure to industrial hazards by conducting specific medical tests.
- Monitor and raise awareness of the effects of occupational hazards such as noise levels and report any incidents / anomalies.
- Prepare documentation regarding workman’s compensation claims, ill-health retirement
- Participate in the development and review of health-related Codes of Practices and procedures
- Report occupational illness/diseases to the relevant authorities and keep accurate record thereof
- Carry out monthly consumable stock takes and place orders
- Provide training and awareness on health-related matters
- Executing campaigns aimed at promoting employee awareness, wellness, and wellbeing
- Maintain patients’ records and confidentiality
- Develop, implement, maintain, and monitor the medical surveillance program to ensure legal compliance
- Participate in occupational health investigations, as and when required
