Electrical Technician

**PURPOSE OF ROLE**

Provide support to the various engineers through performing allocated design and tender preparation related tasks, as well as to assist with test and commissioning activities.

**KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS**
- Electrical systems design assistance:

- Design and sizing of electrical cabling and motor control centres.
- Development of test and commissioning procedures.
- Detail compilation of electrical design documentation.
- Development of relevant electrical drawings using Autocad.
- Compilation of Bill of Quantities (BOQs).
- Assistance during the fabrication phase of all projects including performing required FAT testing.
- Assisting with tender compilation.
- Assisting with testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
- Site supervision of on-site E&I installations team.
- Ensuring compliance to company and project technical and QA requirements.

**QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- National Diploma or BTech in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in a multi-disciplinary project design environment.

**Knowledge**
- Knowledge of Electrical codes and standards.
- Knowledge of the OHS Act and its regulations and how it applies.
- Knowledge of the principles of ISO quality systems.
- Proficient in Autocad.
