Conduct health and safety training and awareness campaigns as per schedule, including but not limited to Toolbox talks across business areas in the company.
- Perform safety Audits and provide feedback on non-compliance on Signature and Autograph premises.
- Conduct and co-ordinate evacuation emergency drills on Signature Cosmetics and Autograph premises.
- Ensure that safety of employees within the company will be your first priority, including the contractors and visitors.
- Provide input to and support the development of Occupational Health and Safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Advise and instruct on health and safety requirements including but not limited to Noise levels, use of machinery, surveys, medicals etc.
- Initiate and organise Health and Safety training of employees and executives in line with OHSA requirements.
- Present Health and Safety statistics and feedback from Health and Safety Investigations in the Monthly Health and Safety Meeting
- Perform internal safety audits according to approved schedule and assist with external audit.
- Provide input to and implement safety policies and procedures aimed at the reduction and elimination of accident-related incidents and the prevention of financial losses.
- Collaborate with management and employees across all levels to determine the type and nature of policies that are required within the company.
- Perform and report on-site inspections (both internal and external surroundings), identify safety concerns or hazards, and provide recommendations.
- Conduct weekly, monthly inspections as per OHSA requirements and identify any areas of concern including but not limited to fire equipment, escape routes, stacking and inspection, condition of safety harnesses and lifelines, unnecessarily slippery areas, broken or faulty work equipment, and other objects or situations that can be a source of accident/injury to anybody.
- Monitor Live CCTV Cameras for the company and report on non-compliance
- Ensure that the correct PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is identified and worn in the workplace, including but not limited to hard hats or helmets, gloves, safety shoes, reflective jackets, use of safety harness and lifeline.
- Manage all COIDA claims.
- Ensure the legal requirements for record keeping of all safety-related accidents are adhered to.
- Supervise the installation, maintenance, and disposal of substances where applicable within the company, according to legal requirements.
- Conduct risk, compliance audits and investigations and compile evidence case files.
- Investigation all stock discrepancies in allocated business areas when requested to do so by the line manager,
- Enforce and monitor compliance with all company policies and procedures and report all incidence of non-compliance and deviations to the line manager.
- Assist with the drafting of Standard Operating Procedures as and when required
- Compile monthly reports and stats relating to training, risk awareness, store audits, OHS inspections, audits, assessments together with findings for Signature, Autograph, and allocated store regions.
**Requirements**:
- Grade 12 or equivalent is required
- Diploma in Safety Management, introduction to SAMTRAC, Train the Trainer or related qualifications is a requirement
- Postgraduate Diploma In Safety Management is an advantage
- Nebosch Certification is an advantage
- Safety Management Training Course (SAMTRAC) Certificate a requirement
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as Safety Officer or similar role
- Minimum 3 years experience working in FMCG/Supply Chain environment is a requirement.
- Experience in audits, compliance and investigations are requirements.
- Experience with creating awareness and training on health and safety topics a requirement.
- Must have basic knowledge of data analysis and reporting processes.
