**_ Position Purpose:_**

The Information Security Officer is a key ICT Information Security ambassador who manages and guides the planning and

implementation of security administration for all IT projects. The ISO is responsible for the evaluation and selection of security

and procedures to make them more effective or to strengthen security measures.

The ISO must implement the developed policies, standards and guidelines and conduct awareness programs relating to the

security of information assets and compliance thereof.

The position holder must provide expertise and assistance in all IT projects with regard to security issues.

**_ Position outputs:_**
- Implements an approved Information Security Management System to protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of

information that is in the custody of or processed by TPT
- Develop, maintain, and publish all TPT information security standards, procedures, and guidelines, including compliance

monitoring procedures.
- Assist in resolving security policy issues and in implementing security procedures
- Prepares status reports on security matters
- Develop security risk analysis scenarios and response procedures.
- Implements controls to ensure compliance in line with Transnet policies.
- Monitor the adequacy of mitigation plans in IT information security risk registers and reports / escalates these to

management.
- Implements information classification scheme for TPT
- Enforces security policies and procedures by administering and monitoring security profiles. Reviews security violation

reports and investigates possible security exceptions. Updates, and maintains and documents security controls.
- In consultation with LOB management implements and tests ICT business continuity and disaster recovery plans,

processes, and procedures necessary to recover services in the event of a declared disaster.
- Enforce required information security measures and principles in all ICT programmes
- Guide enterprise-wide information security rollout plans
- Educates IT and the business about security policies and consults on security issues regarding user built/managed

systems.

**_ Qualifications & Experience:_**
- A degree or Diploma in Information Technology with Auditing- A minimum of 5 years’ extensive knowledge IT audit, information security and project management is required
