**The Opportunity**:
We are looking for an experienced and confident marketing manager to lead the marketing and communications strategy in Africa, based in Johannesburg.

The purpose of this role is to develop and execute a marketing plan to support our African business' growth plan and the region’s business development plan. A key part of the role will be to develop outcome-based marketing campaigns to elevate the brand and the firm’s established track record targeting clients in the region and helping to develop relationships with large local and international firms.

The role will also include developing an internal communications programme to keep colleagues informed of the firm’s latest news from across the business and within the region. This will typically involve news across clients, operations and people and local news stories including social activities and charity events.

**Essential role requirements**:
You will need a strategic mindset with a background in marketing and communications in a business-to-business professional services environment. You will be an effective communicator with a natural ability to engage, enthuse and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholder networks.

**Role responsibilities**:

- Develop, lead and execute the region’s marketing and communications plan providing monthly, quarterly and annual updates to the Africa leadership team along with key outputs and successes.
- Raise awareness of the region’s expertise, bring their current expertise to the fore, and help to target new clients, including State-Owned Enterprises, employers, contractors and lawyers.
- Align with the consultants to create thought leadership articles/white papers and aim to establish media opportunities to demonstrate our people’s expertise, knowledge and insight and to elevate the HKA brand.
- Manage the region’s social media and develop a programme of interesting and relative content to help grow their following and look to increase engagement across all social media posts.
- Manage agency resources / external consultants when required to deliver high-quality and impactful campaigns to meet the region’s needs, especially for the HKA training academy.
- Play an integral role in developing and executing corporate social responsibility, engaging colleagues to help the local community.
- Develop an internal communications programme to communicate news stories across clients, operations, and people.
- Set and maintain the standards for HKA's tone of voice and style across external and internal touchpoints to ensure consistency and accuracy.

**Administration, Maintenance & Brand Compliance**
- Responsible for Africa Pulse, HKA’s Intranet Site, and developing news stories for colleagues along with managing and maintaining the site for the region.
- Play an integral role in managing and maintaining the firm’s CRM system/client database for campaigns that you own and run, and become familiar with reporting on new leads and opportunities, including monitoring and ensuring that all database records are up to date following global events and client meetings/introductions for the region.

**Skills and Experience**:
Ideally you will possess the following skills and experience:

- Degree in Marketing, Communications or related discipline.
- Strong command of written and spoken English.
- Excellent communication, creative thinking and networking skills.
- Strong project management and presentation skills.
- Social media savvy, with knowledge of branding, ideation and marketing processes.
- Knowledge and experience with creative software (e.g. Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator) or other online graphic design tools.
