A luxury 5-star property in Franschhoek is looking for a Head Housekeeper. You will be successful in this role if you have the ability to plan and coordinate the activities of the housekeeping team by ensuring that operating procedures and standards are met. The role requires high levels of attention to detail, a leader, a team player and the focus on exceeding the guest's expectations. You will excel in this role if you are an efficient, solutions-driven individual who enjoys a fast-paced and constantly changing environment. With a passion for exceptional service whilst maintaining a high degree of operational delivery and people management.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide direction, oversight and guidance to the housekeeping team
- Implement and achieve daily team services and operational objectives
- Daily handovers and briefings with the housekeeping team
- Ensure hotel public areas are maintained and look impeccable
- Daily maintenance reporting and following up
- Rostering and leave planning
- Ensure that all Housekeeping Team members receive regular performance feedback and support their documented development plans
- Plans, prepares and executes ongoing training initiatives for the housekeeping team
- Monitor and control inventories for operating equipment, linen, stationary, guest supplies, cleaning supplies and uniforms to ensure par stocks are maintained and costs are controlled

**Inherent Requirements**:

- Degree or Diploma in Hospitality
- Valid driver's license would be advantageous
- High level of physical endurance
- COVID-19considerations: We encourage all staff to be fully vaccinated

**Experience and skills**:

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position within a 5-star luxury property
- Impeccable communication skills both written and verbal
- Must be computer literate
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead a team
- Strong training skills and experience
- Effective rostering abilities
- Controlling of expenses and inventories
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Sustainable quality and attention to detail

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Franschhoek, Western Cape: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
