By investing in the social, emotional and mental wellbeing of learners and their caregivers (educators, parents and guardians), Community Keepers co-create supportive school communities where learning and development can prosper. The organisation delivers psycho-social services in public schools situated in low-income areas.

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to manage the implementation of a new project at Community Keepers.

In 2023 we will be expanding our services with 40 new school based offices in various locations across 3 provinces. The successful incumbent will be based in Gauteng with the project rolling out in Gauteng (Mamelodi), the Eastern Cape and Western Cape.

As our project manager, your job will be to coordinate people and processes to ensure that our projects are delivered on time and produce the desired results. You will be the go-to person for everything involving the project’s organization and timeline.

**Project Manager Duties**

Specific project manager responsibilities include developing detailed project plans, ensuring resource availability and allocation and delivering every project on time within budget and scope.

**Responsibilities**
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time within the stipulated scope and budget
- Lead the initiation and planning of a project and ensure technical feasibility
- Ensure resource availability and allocation
- Develop a detailed plan to monitor and track the progress of the project
- Coordinate with internal and external parties for the flawless execution of projects
- Manage relationships between clients (the schools) and stakeholders (the project funder)
- Measure project performance using appropriate project management tools
- Perform risk management analysis to reduce project risks
- Report and escalate to upper management as and when needed
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects

**Requirements and skills**

**Project managers should have a background in business skills, management, budgeting and analysis. You should be an excellent communicator and comfortable managing multiple tasks. You also need to be a team player and have a problem-solving aptitude. To lead a successful project, our project manager needs to be skilled in almost all fields - from tech to human resources, from marketing to construction and everything else in between.**
- Proven working experience as a project administrator (preferably in the NGO sector)
- Passionfor community work and specifically the wellbeing of young people and children.
- A formal qualification in project management will be beneficial.
- Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office

**Practical requirements**:

- Valid driver’s licence and own transport.
- Ideally living in close proximity to Mamelodi, Gauteng.

In accordance with our Employment Equity goals and plan, preference will be given to suitable applicants from designated groups. This is a 1-year fixed term contract with a strong possibility of changing into a fulltime senior management position offering once the project is established.
