SA Metal Group is South Africa’s oldest and largest metal recycling company. The Group purchases and processes all forms of ferrous metals (steel and others) and non-ferrous metals (aluminium, copper and others) from industrial enterprises, scrap metal dealers and private individuals. Our processing facilities are located in and around Cape Town, Johannesburg and Pretoria.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

The Real Steel Yard requires a committed, hardworking, and motivated individual to join their team. The successful applicant will be responsible for, but not limited to:

- Welding and Manufacturing of various steel poles and braai stands
- Manufacturing of steel brackets and various steel components
- Assisting team and customers with cutting of material
- In-house maintenance and repairs
- Distribution and record keeping of tools and PPE
- Ensure that tools are kept in the required standard operating condition
- Report faulty machines and ladders
- Day-to-day inspection of all machinery in the department
- Housekeeping of workstation
- General ad-hoc duties as communicated by Management

**Applicants must have the following qualifying criteria**:

- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Previous experience in the same or similar role advantageous
- Extensive knowledge of power tools, this includes experience working with a grinder and gas cutter
- Knowledge of Health and Safety Rules
- Ability to work under challenging conditions
- No fear of heights
- Excellent communication skills( understand, read and write in English)
- Knowledge of wide variety of steel products.
- Semi-skilled welding experience
