Meteorologist

Our client is an emerging provider of cutting-edge solutions in weather systems technology, specialising in developing advanced weather monitoring, prediction, and analysis tools.

**Position Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:

- Analyse meteorological data from radar, and weather stations, to assess current weather conditions and trends.
- Develop and maintain weather forecast models and algorithms, incorporating advanced scientific principles and computational techniques.
- Monitor weather patterns, such as temperature changes, precipitation events, and severe weather outbreaks, to provide timely and accurate forecasts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams of meteorologists, data scientists, and engineers to enhance forecast accuracy and reliability.
- Interpret model output and observational data to identify potential risks and opportunities for clients in industries such as emergency management.
- Communicate weather forecasts and analysis findings to clients through written reports, presentations, and consultations, tailoring information to meet their specific needs and objectives.
- Stay informed of emerging trends and developments in meteorological science, incorporating new techniques and methodologies into our forecasting practices.
- Participate in research projects and scientific collaborations to advance our understanding of weather phenomena and improve forecast accuracy.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, or a related field.
- Five years or more of experience in meteorology, weather forecasting, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of meteorological principles, weather forecasting techniques, and atmospheric dynamics.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical methods
- Familiarity with weather forecasting models and numerical weather prediction techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts to non-expert audiences.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret and synthesize large volumes of data.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Prior experience in weather forecasting, research, or related fields is preferred but not required
