Quantity Surveyor

**Requirements**:

- Fully remote - based in South Africa
- UK experience a must
- Commercially astute with proven experience within a commercial role in the Construction Industry
- Excellent working knowledge of the JCT and RICS Standard Methods of Measurement (SMM)
- Experience working with a Main Contractor or Developer on high end residential projects from start to finish
- BSc degree in Quantity Surveying
- Computer literate with strong skills in Microsoft Office Applications (Word/Excel/Outlook/PowerPoint/Project)
- Comfortable managing multiple projects from inception to completion
- Ability to prioritise workload and deliver on conflicting demands
- Advanced knowledge of construction processes, procedures, methods and equipment
- Expert knowledge of building products and materials, construction processes, methods and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
- Ability to accurately read technical drawings, calculations and measurements
- Ability to read technical specifications and assimilate large volumes of tender information
- Excellent time and project management skills
- You must be personable, articulate and confident to liaise with stakeholders at all levels
- Client facing, polished and a strong communicator

**Responsibilities**:

- Managing sub-contract accounts
- Day-to-day administration of the commercial function of the project(s)
- Ensuring full compliance with all contractual requirements/responsibilities
- Take-offs, measurement, scheduling, preparation of Bills of Quantities (BoQ)
- Monitor all ongoing contract costs against those detailed in the original tender
- Sub-Contractor Procurement and Negotiation
- Send out, review and approve supplier/sub-contractor packages
- Ensure orders are correctly placed with Sub-Contractors, Consultants and Suppliers in accordance with contractual arrangements and signed by all parties prior to works commencing on a project
