**Responsible Pharmacist Vacancy: Kalapeng Pharmacy, Midrand**

Job Descriptions:

- Accurately interpret scripts and act in professional and responsible manner, and within the legal requirements in accordance with the SAPC
- Dispensing of any medicine or scheduled substance on the prescription of a person authorised to prescribe medicine
- Manage the dispensary and the pharmacy staff
- Stock control covering stock ordering and managing expired stock
- Provide training for Pharmacy assistant including weekly internal training
- Provide consultation on prescription and non-prescription medications for storage, dosage, side effects, and drug interactions
- Provide advices on selection of Over-The-Counter medications to treat common illnesses such as flu, cold sores, headaches etc.
- Educate patients on proper handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitor and glucose meters
- Supervise pharmacy staff members including cashiers, pharmacist assistants, etc.
- Proper management of patient records and pharmacy files
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with SOPs.
- Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster
- Maintain full control over delivering, stocking and labelling medicine and other products and monitor their condition to prevent expiring or deterioration
- Interacting with Doctors and nurses
- Listen carefully to customers to interpret their needs and issues and offer information and advice
- Provide assistance other medical services such as injections, blood pressure/ temperature measurements etc.
- Take accountability of the entire store

**Essential**:

- Grade 12 / Matric
- BPharm / equivalent qualification
- Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
- Experience in supervising staff
- Computer literate - MS Office/ ComPharm system skill will be advantageous
- Sound numerical skills
- Willing and able to work retail trading hours
