Storeman Operator

Our client requires the services of a **Storeman | Operator (Permanent) Nelspruit**

Our client is looking for a forklift operator at their warehouse in Nelspruit, to upload materials and merchandise from incoming vehicles and stacking them to assigned places. Locating and moving stock of products to pallets or crates for storage or shipment. Identifying damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies. The operator must also fulfil basic storeman duties.

**POSITION**:Permanent

**COMMENCEMENT**:As soon as possible

**QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE**
- Grade 10 or similar qualification.
- A valid Forklift Competency Certificate; and
- A minimum of 1-2 years experience as a Forklift Operator.

**ROLE**:

- Accountable for the safe operation of the forklift to prevent injury to persons, damage to buildings and equipment, and to prevent damage to the forklift.
- Check equipment for serviceability and safe-to-use before every shift and complete applicable lists.
- Responsible for daily and weekly operators inspection, maintenance, lubrication and repair of forklift and repair/replace forklift parts in a preventative manner.
- Responsible to clean the forklift and maintain a good state of cleanliness and serviceability.
- Conduct HIRA to ensure the task at hand will be safely executed.
- Assess the safest and most economical way to move, stack, load and offload stores.
- Comply with all Health, Safety, HR and Environmental policies and procedures.
- Always use the correct and appropriate PPE when conducting the task.
- Obtains copy of production schedule or shipping order and transports material or equipment to and from designated areas in the facility.
- Loading and unloading goods from vehicles such as trucks.
- Moving goods packed on pallets or in crates around the storage facility.
- Stacking goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions.
- Checking loads are secure.
- Stacking empty pallets.
- Performing daily equipment checks such as recharging the equipments battery and lubricating equipment.
- Removing machine attachments and waste material from machines.
- Examining products to verify conformance to quality standards.
