Vetting Investigator

SBV currently seeks a Vetting Investigator to conduct vetting investigations as required by the organisation and in accordance to SBV standards.
**Investigating breaches regarding the security regulations and measures within SBV.**
- Support the Vetting Manager in rolling out and maintaining a preventative investigative program across the entire company.
- Always create and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders through support and adequate communication.
**Conduct investigations on all applicants, employees and external vendors to ensure that they are security cleared to company requirements.**
- Actions and records vetting requests in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Conduct various background verification checks, inclusive but not limited to, criminal record verification, adverse financial records, SAFPS and REDS enquiries on all applicants as per agreed upon timeframes.
- Records, validates and evaluates information received as per vetting policy.
- Interview all relevant role players (references) that have bearing on the investigation within agreed upon timeframes.
- Conduct truth verification tests (Polygraph and Voice Stress tests) in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Conduct comprehensive work enquiries when required.
- Compile truth verification test (VS/polygraph) report as per prescribed procedures to the Vetting Manager.
- Update Vetting spreadsheets as per agreed timeframes.
- Write vetting report on all relevant risks, possible threats and concerns identified during the investigation.
- Present recommendations upon all information gathered that indicates a possible threat or risk to the company.
**Maintains and analyses data for trend analysis**
- Keep records updated on an ongoing basis.
**Confidentiality**
- Always ensures confidentiality of information and documentation in accordance of company policies and procedures and POPI Act
**Minimum Requirements: Experience**
- 5 years Vetting and/or Investigative experience in a unionised medium to large organisation of which:
- 3 years as a certified Polygraph/ Voice Stress Examiner
**Minimum Requirements: Education**
- Grade 12
**Special recuirements**
- Investigation skills
- Membership with recognized truth verification governing body
- PSIRA Grade A (Advantageous)
- Completed vetting course through recognized institution.
