Buyer

Our Engineering client is looking for an experienced Buyer.

**Key requirement**
- 5 years of buying/purchasing experience in an engineering /manufacturing or mining sector
- Purchasing of raw materials, steel bars, profile and laser cut, consumables for workshop
- Purchasing system experience, Sage, Quick books
- Strong Admin skills

**Key responsibilities**
- Efficient purchasing of inventory, supplies and capital equipment
- Receive purchase requisitions and verify for accuracy and authorization
- Periodically evaluate suppliers and advise management when vendors are not meeting requirements
- Evaluate, recommend and or source new substitute vendors, when necessary
- Prepare and issue purchase order, determine and negotiate pries, delivery and credit terms, buy according to established company policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate purchasing records
- Evaluate, assess and select vendors based on capabilities, performance and consistent quality
- Maintain rapport and good working relationships with vendors, keep accurate vendor records
- Evaluate inventory quantity price breaks to determine the most economical purchasing of inventory in relation to the company's cost of capital
- Expedite purchase orders as necessary and ensure delivery of purchased items for uninterrupted manufacturing flow
- Keep all filing updated and records according to ISO 9001:2015
