Junior Fitter

**JOB SUMMARY**

The position is responsible for assisting with all type of repairs (mechanical, electrical, and electronic) of various compression/flexural machines, scales, pumps within operational sites as well as the manufacturing plant.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Completing all work for using job card system. The equipment needs to be repaired using root cause analysis to identify all faults and work needs to be completed as quickly as possible and checked and tested for accuracy, to meet quality control standards.
- Take responsibility for using and safeguarding all company resources and assets in the workshop and on-site trips, such as vehicles, cellphones, stock etc.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement effective repair solutions to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support production goals and optimize equipment performance
- Assist with collections and deliveries from time to time for the Company
- Take initiative to continue work if unsupervised.
- Assist in general maintenance within reason of scope of work
- Interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications to ensure accurate assembly and alignment of components.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance to identify and address potential issues.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Matric with a relevant technical skills preferred (Millwright/Fitter or similar)
- 2 years Relevant experience and proven proficiency in a repair with exposure to problem solving, fault finding, mechanical/electrical repairs etc. and/or calibrations
- Proficiency in using drills, welding and other tools and workshop equipment.
- Whilst a team player, the person can work independently, is dedicated to ensuring 100% precision in their work and takes pride in the functionality of all machines.
- Use of initiative, strong drive to achieve results with a sense of urgency
- Highly attentive to detail and maintains high personal work standards
- Display honesty, integrity and can maintain a code of confidentiality where sensitive issues are handled for management.
- Able to build rapport and relationships with Customers and staff at all levels, especially in volatile and emergency situations.
- Willingness to engage in continuous learning
- Displays good Analytical ability and problem-solving skills
- **Willing to work overtime/ after hours, when necessary,**
- **Willing to be on standby, when necessary,**
- **Must have a code 8 licence.**

**Salary**: R64.10 per hour
