Faircape Restaurant and Catering, part of Faircape Life retirement villages, is located in 6 prime locations across the Western Cape, providing meals to village residents and patients in the onsite healthcare centres

We currently have a position available for a **Food Ambassador **at our facility Tokai Estate**.**

The successful incumbent will be responsible for carrying out assigned tasks involved in providing quality food service for the benefit of the

**Job duties include, but are not limited to the following**:
Leadership and reporting:

- Lead a small team of service staff in the Healthcare Centres
- Follow procedure
- Report daily to the Food Service Manager
- Manage waiter call bells

Taking meal orders:

- Taking meal orders aligned with menu options from residents in Healthcare

Service:

- Serving of meals - Waiter for Healthcare residents
- Special diets
- Trolley service
- Tea and coffee service

Hygiene:

- To be continually aware of and maintain the highest of personal hygiene standards
- To ensure that your designated area meets all the required hygiene standards

Events:

- Assist, when needed, for private village events that require a waiter

Daily checks:

- Do daily checks on all equipment in the healthcare are and report inconsistencies to the Food Service Manager
- Attend daily meetings
- Beverages and night issues

Billing:

- Ensure all billing of beverages and coffee shop meals are done correctly to residents accounts
- Any corrections on billing done in accordance with procedure
- Ensure all slips are signed by residents

**Qualifications**:

- Senior certificate - matric
- Any relevant additional courses, training, certifications, etc. will be highly advantageous

**Experience and knowledge**:

- Similar experience in food services or related roles
- Experience with frail, geriatric and/or dementia patients
- Knowledge of sanitation practices related to handling and serving food
- Able to work as part of a team
- Previous experience in managing and motivating staff members

**Skills and Attributes**:

- Computer literate (basic)
- Leadership skills important
- Knowledge of how to communicate with elderly patients with patience and respect essential
- Well groomed
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent customer service skill
- Ability to interact with residents and co-workers in a friendly, enthusiastic manner
- Team player with positive attitude

**Specific Requirements**:

- Clear health record
- Clear criminal record
- Clear credit record
- Vaccinated against covid-19 or prepared to be vaccinated prior to commencing job

**Working Hours**:

- Required to work 16.25 shifts per month. Normal working days are Mondays to Sundays, according to the roster, from 07h00 to 19h00.

Salary from R 6, 000 - R 7,000 Cost to Company per month. This is a fixed salary, no tips.
