Junior Audio/visual Technician

The successful incumbent will be responsible for the day-to-day management and set up of all audio-visual requirements linked to all 5 schools and all Cross-Campus departments.

**The duties will include, but are not limited to**:
Setup and provide support for all the technical AV requirements needed for internal events, and external

events hosted on campus. This excludes but is not limited to sound, projectors, basic lighting, etc.
- Setting up and striking down of sound and lighting equipment.
- Setting up data projector and screen.
- Technical management of small to medium size events.
- Loading and offloading AV vehicle and storeroom.
- Attending events meetings and planning event setups.
- Troubleshooting equipment faults in various venues.
- Transporting and collecting AV equipment.
- Liaising with staff/outside event organizers regarding their respective events or functions and providing technical support
- Attending to special requests by presenters or organizers
- Transport, setup, preparation, and strike of necessary equipment for each function/event
- Operation of Equipment during events: Sound desk, Amps, Projectors, Laptop, Live streaming, etc.

**The requirements for this position are**:

- A matric certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent
- A suitable professional qualification and generalist experience in a similar environment would be a distinct advantage.
- A driver’s license
- Sound/Lighting Diploma advantageous
- Minimum one year experience in sound and events industry
- Customer service orientation
- Previous events management experience is advantageous
- Ability to prioritize, work under pressure, and to work weekends and evenings on a regular basis
- Computer literacy and working knowledge of MS Office Suite, Google Suite, Windows and Mac OS Operating Systems
- Critical thinker, clear use of initiative and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Good time-management skills and ability to affectively plan your day and prioritize your duties.
- Deadline orientated, ability to work effectively under pressure and extended hours when necessary
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
- Friendly and interactive
- Great attention to detail
- Good command of English in spoken and written form
- Committing to work within the values, Christian ethos and mission of the College, as well as participating in the broader life of St Stithians College
- Good physical health and ability to lift heavy sound and lighting equipment
- A police clearance, sexual offender’s clearance certificate
