Key Responsibilities
1. Product Development:
- Develop and optimize formulations for paints, coatings, and related products.
- Experiment with raw materials to achieve desired properties (e.g., color, gloss, adhesion, durability).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring new products to market.
2. Testing and Quality Assurance:
- Conduct laboratory tests to evaluate product performance (e.g., viscosity, drying time, weather resistance).
- Perform quality control checks on raw materials and finished products.
- Troubleshoot issues during production and provide technical support.
3. Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure products comply with environmental, health, and safety standards (e.g., VOC limits).
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.
4. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed records of formulations, test results, and experiments.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal or client use.
5. Innovation:
- Explore and test new technologies, raw materials, and methods to improve product performance.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in paint and coating science.
**Qualifications**:
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience:
- 2-5 years of experience in paint formulation, coatings development, or a related role.
- Knowledge of raw materials such as pigments, resins, binders, and additives.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of paint and coating properties and testing methods.
- Familiarity with instruments like viscometers, spectrophotometers, and weathering chambers.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and laboratory management software.
