**Merchandise Demand Planner - Retail Clothing - Johannesburg - 12 Month Contract**

**Key Performance Areas**:
Demand/Sales forecasting; analyze sales history and current trend to forecast future with reasonable accuracy

Solid understanding of retail KPI’s and metrics i.e Markdown, Sell thru, OTB, Weeks Cover

Set, review and reconcile periodic demand plans

Continually evaluate and assess internal and external data, plans, capabilities and constraints to understand impact to effective inventory management execution

Taking the lead in establishing/maintaining seasonal purchasing strategy and rationale which aligns to inventory planning objectives

ERP system knowledge/ forecasting tools

Analyze and summarize large amounts of data for effective decision making

**Requirements**:
**Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) or similar commercial degree**

**3 to 4 years’ experience in clothing retail**

Solid understanding of retail KPI’s and metrics e.g. Markdown, Sell thru, OTB, Weeks Cover etc

Advanced MS Excel & must be comfortable working with pivot tables

Must have experience or exposure to assortment/ range building

Must have ERP system knowledge/ forecasting tools

Must have be able to Analyze and summarize large amounts of data for effective decision making

Merchant mindset and strong business acumen

Excellent communication skills

Organizational and prioritization skills

Cross functional collaboration

**Job Type**: Temporary
Contract length: 12 months

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Johannesburg North, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
