The **HTS Mentor’s **primary responsibility is to support case finding implementation and reporting activities across the district. The HTS Mentor is expected to collaborate very closely with the Cluster Team Leads (CTL)CTLs and Primary Health Care Area Manager (PHCAMs) across all clusters in the district to ensure case finding activities are implemented with fidelity and reported into the district data for onward reporting to NDoH and USAID.

Key Accountabilities

The HTS Mentor will work with CTL, PHCAMs, testers and data capturers in all facilities providing testing services and reporting.
- Monitor district case finding performance against targets across all supported facilities and modalities.
- Monitor index testing provision among facility staff daily, review weekly performance against targets
- Monitor implementation of chalk talks, and provide mentorship in the actual conducting of chalk talks
- Compile index testing services training requirements
- Monitor implementation of one-on-one supportive supervision sessions
- Ensure facility has HIV Test Kits, HIVSS kits, and relevant registers (HTS, Index and HIVSS registers)
- Monitor the correct completion of data collection tools by adhoc review of registers
- Monitor tracing of index contacts through data analysis and identify facilities not tracing and testing contacts and support in development of remedial plans to correct this.
- Work with the data teams to ensure allocated facilities have their data reported including DoH index testing data
- Liaise with the CTLs and PHCAMs to provide targeted interventions to underperforming facilities
- Conduct site visits to underperforming facilities to identify case finding gaps in order to liaise with CTLs to provide required intervention activities
- Work across all district teams to ensure that all aspects of the HTS Programme is being implemented as per the workplan
- Liaise and work directly with TST members supporting HTS Services within the district
- Identify Index testing training Gaps for both BroadReach and DOH Testers, plan intervention with CTL, and TA HTS.
- Any other role assigned by your manager within reason of your scope of work

**Essential qualifications**
- NIMART/CMART trained
- Accredited certificate in basic counselling and HIV
- 3 years’ experience supporting HIV Testing services

**Experience & Skills**
- Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience and knowledge of public health facilities
- Fluency in Zulu is a must (and Siswati for the Mpumalanga districts is desirable)
- Experience in providing HTS including implementation of index testing services
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working on PEPFAR funded programmes
