Trainee Buyer

Shoe City is a dynamic and innovative fashion retailer seeking for a talented Graduate Footwear Buyer to join our purchasing team for a 12 months contract.

We're looking for a highly motivated and fashion-forward Graduate to assist in sourcing, selecting, and purchasing footwear products for our stores.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Assist in sourcing and selecting footwear products from suppliers
- Analyse sales data, market trends, and customer feedback
- Negotiate prices, terms, and delivery with suppliers
- Collaborate with design, marketing, and sales teams
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers
- Conduct competitor analysis and market research

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree/Advanced Diploma in Fashion or related field (minimum NQF 7 qualification is essential)

**Knowledge, Skills and Experience**:

- 0-2 years of experience in buying, merchandising, or fashion industry
- Must not be a beneficiary of any SETA funded programme
- Strong knowledge of footwear trends, markets, and suppliers
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
- Knowledge of product lifecycle management and supply chain management would be advantageous.
- Proficient in Google Suite would be an advantage
