Ilower Art

The iLower Educator must help IGen-learners understand the importance of the Art and French in their educational journey and the role that Art and French play in society today. The teacher will need to create engaging lessons, explain complex concepts simply, and enrich the learning experience by using problem-based learning principles.

**Responsibilities**:

- Designing, developing, and delivering quality lesson plans and units of study that adhere to national and school guidelines.
- Drawing up suitable assessments and delivering helpful feedback to learners, parents, and other teachers.
- Establishing classroom, and field trip rules and regulations and ensuring that all learners understand what is expected of them.
- Providing extra resources, support, and interventions for learners who are struggling.
- Grading papers, updating records, and handling various normal administrative tasks.
- Creating an environment where learners feel comfortable asking questions and voicing concerns.
- Participating in other school activities and regularly communicating with parents.

**Preferred Skills and Requirements**:

- Competency in integrated, thematic teaching using problem-based learning principles.
- Energetic, collaborative and progressive-minded invested in promoting an integrated-learning focus.
- Previous teaching experience, and strong knowledge in the area of specialisations at the required levels of study.
- Thorough understanding of the curricular elements of the Intermediate Phase CAPS curriculum and the scaffolding of knowledge upwards across the grades.
- A proven collaborator, skilled at working well with others.
- A positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
- Expertise in building active, collaborative learning experiences which develop a sense of agency, community and trust.
- A solid understanding of a primary school organisation, programs and IGen-learner.
- A proven ability to differentiate instruction and integrate learning.
- Practical experience with using educational technologies to enhance learning and to facilitate teaching and learning.
- Strong competency in using the Microsoft Office Suite of Applications. Jacaranda College is a Microsoft Showcase school and our educational practices (planning, collaboration, instruction delivery and academic program management) are embedded in O365 (Teams, OneNote, SharePoint, Sway, Forms and MS Office).
- Dedication, patience, and the ability to remain calm in tense situations.

- A passion for social science and a commitment to continuing education.
