Fixed Wing Pilot

The Organisation requires the services of a Fixed Wing Pilot in the Air Services Department, over a three-year fixed term. This position will be based at Kruger National Park, Skukuza.

**Requirements**:

- Be in possession of a Commercial Fixed Wing Pilot License (SACAA), National Conservation qualification, firearm competency, first aid competency, crew resources management course, dangerous goods course, instrument rating and safety emergency procedure training.
- Must have 500 hours fixed-wing.
- Knowledge of aviation legislation SACCA, integral knowledge.
- Knowledge of criminal procedure act and firearm act.
- Knowledge of the national environmental management act.
- Knowledge of pilot operating handbook ( Aircraft Technical).
- AIP,AIC,NOTAM & Aviation Safety Trends.
- SANParks part 135 SOP SACAA approved.
- Knowledge of goods legislation.
- Knowledge of crew resource management.
- Knowledge of emergency first aid.
- Knowledge of firearm proficiency.
- Knowledge of weather interpretation.
- High degree of spatial awareness during high-risk flight operations at a low level.
- Investigative crime scene support.
- High-level computer literacy.
- Communications skills and interpersonal skills.
- Firearm handling and problem-solving skills.
- Time management and conflict management skills.
- Self'“sufficiency and discipline skills.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assists on game census
- Assists operations for military/para-military/anti-poaching.
- Standby availability distance from Skukuza
- Assists in flight related administration.
- Critical decision making and planning - high impact to SANParks.
- Critical mission risk analysis.
- Stakeholder management/engagement.
