**Purpose**:
The main purpose is to prepare technical drawings and plans, which are used by production to build, repair or improve mining equipment. To create 3D CAD models and detailed drawings of machinery and mechanical devices, indicating dimensions and tolerances, fabrication, machine fasteners, joining requirements and other mechanical and mechanism elements.

**Qualification**:

- Matric
- Drafting diploma
- 3D CAD
- Minimum of 2 years of draughting experience in a similar environment.
- Experience in mechanical drawing, high level of knowledge in draughting standards, science, mathematics, engineering technology and working in a machine design environment.
- PTC Creo and Windchill 3D CAD system experience essential.

**Duties**:

- Generating of new and updating of existing CAD models and detailed engineering drawings from hand drawn drawings, existing CAD models and verbal descriptions from the engineers and the senior draughtsman using the PTC Creo 3D CAD modelling system and Windchill PLM data management system.
- To produce the detailed engineering drawings an accepted national standard.
- Assist in completion of parts books, operator's and technical manuals, control documents and drawings as described in the company standards.
- To access and store CAD models within the PTC Windchill PLM environment.
- Be able to work with Companys business system (SYSPRO) regarding engineering matters, i.e. Bill of materials, technical notes.
- To create parts numbers as required.
- Attend to production related drawing queries from the factory and suppliers.
- To collect and record information of any changes that are made during the fabrication and assembly of products.
- "To update drawings to an ""As built"" specification, based on records collected during the fabrication and assembly of
- products."
- To create drawings as may be necessary from time to time.
