**Registered Nurse - Psychiatry**

Our client is a national private hospital group looking for a Psychiatric Nurse at their hospital in the North of Johannesburg.

**Qualification & Requirements**:

- General Nursing Diploma;
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC);
- Previous experience in Mental Healthcare;
- Minimum 1 years’ experience;
- Excellent communication skills.

**Key Areas**:

- Care for patients who suffer from mental health issues as well as those who struggle with substance abuse;
- Administer medication under supervision;
- Document medical history;
- Work with an interdisciplinary team including psychiatrists and social workers;
- Accurately observe and engage with patients to assess their needs and evaluate their progress;
- Evaluate and respond to changes in patient conditions and needs;
- Participate in regular clinical and non-clinical meetings as requested;
- Work in accordance with safeguarding adult and children’s policies and requirements;
- Demonstrate a positive attitude and commitment to change, improvement and quality.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: R76,33 per hour

Expected hours: 12 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Midrand, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Education**:

- Diploma (required)

**Experience**:

- Psychiatric ward: 1 year (required)

License/Certification:

- Nursing Council registration (required)
