Shift Setter

**Job Title: Shift Setter**

A Shift Setter is responsible for setting up and overseeing the production line during a specific shift. Their primary role involves preparing machinery, ensuring it is in good working order, and configuring it to produce plastic products.

**Responsibilities**:

- **Machine Setup**: Set up plastic processing machinery before the start of each shift, including injection molding machines, extruders, or other relevant equipment.
- **Tooling and Material Preparation**: Ensure that the required molds, tools, and raw materials are available and properly prepared for production.
- **Quality Control**: Monitor the production process to ensure the quality of the plastic products meets specified standards. Perform regular checks and inspections.
- **Machine Calibration**: Calibrate and adjust machinery settings to achieve optimal production conditions and output.
- **Troubleshooting**: Identify and troubleshoot any issues with machinery or the production process, making necessary adjustments or repairs to minimize downtime.
- **Safety Compliance**: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and the production team.
- **Record Keeping**: Maintain accurate records of machine settings, production output, and any issues encountered during the shift. Report this information to supervisors.
- **Communication**: Collaborate with other shift setters, machine operators, and supervisors to ensure smooth transitions between shifts and effective communication of production-related information.
- Any other duties reasonable requested by your supervisor
- Overtime as and when necessary

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12or equivalent
- 3 Year previous experience in a Blow moulding environment.
- Technical skills related to plastic machinery operation and setup.
- Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Knowledge of compressors, chillers and cooling towers
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

**Working Conditions**:

- Shift work may be required, including nights and weekends.
- Physical stamina may be necessary, as the role may involve standing for extended periods and some manual labor.

**Salary**: R15,000.00 - R20,000.00 per month
