- Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 2 Years’ experience in Centre lathe and Milling machines
- Experience in the manufacturing industry/environment would be advantageous.
- Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities- Demonstrating turning (lathe) practicals to students
- Guide students in using of lathe and other machines in the workshop.
- Maintenance and repair of lathes other machines in the workshop
- Purchasing of workshop consumables
- Support research work and supervise work in the Fitting and Turning workshop.
- Budgeting and planning sessions for the section
- Administering of stock and assisting in the management of the components in the workshop.
- Enforce workshop safety
- Competencies- Understanding of workshop machines and machining processes
- Knowledge of lathe machines
- Knowledge of manufacturing
- Knowledge of precision machining
- Multitasking skills

- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
