Optimisation Specialist

PURPOSE:
**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Participate in system requirements, definition, testing, training, implementation, and support
- Solicit customer requirements through interviews, workshops and/or existing documentation
- Use industry standard analysis techniques and tools, to uncover and document customer requirements, such as data flow modelling, use case modelling, workflow analysis, functional decomposition analysis, data modelling and object modelling
- Documents the results of analysis activities using the appropriate templates and/or analysis tools
- Use prototyping where possible to solicit customer requirements (in conjunction with software developers)
- Conduct and analyse preliminary business and information technology processes and document such processes
- Make recommendations for necessary changes on projects that are initiated or requested by other departments or business units
- Create, modify, and maintain and schedule procedures and reports
- Identify areas of potential business risk and communicates these to project managers and key stakeholders
- Assist business units in compiling, reviewing, and implementing policies and procedures

Business process alignment and re-engineering

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION:

- A bachelor's degree (or equivalent type diploma) in computer programming, computer science, or information technology or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years working experience as an Optimisation Specialist
- Minimum 5 years working experience in an IT/Software development environment
- Written and verbal communication, including technical writing skills
- Understanding of systems engineering concepts
- The ability to conduct cost / benefit analysis
- Business case development
