Maternal, Adolescent & Child Health Institute NPC, (MatCH) is a non-profit organization supporting public sector health services. MatCH implements donor funded projects to improve HIV and TB outcomes through providing technical assistance and direct service delivery support. **MatCH is looking to fill the following position under a project funded by THINK Tuberculosis and HIV Investigative Network RF NPC aimed to strengthen the health care delivery platform for TB in the Eastern Cape.**

**Duration of Contract**: Fixed term ending 30 November 2023

**Main purpose of the job**

The incumbent will be required to support the implementation of the THINK USAID TB

LON project in the district. The aim of the project is to safeguard advances of TB treatment by strengthening the TB health care platform in the district.

**Duties and Responsibilities include but not limited to**:

- Conduct integrated COVID/ TB screening at facilities and in communities
- Provide education to patients on sputum collection, facilitate collection of sputum sample and ensure strict infection control procedures.
- Ensure accurate completion of all documentation including registers, client records and laboratory requisition forms
- Provide adherence Counselling in identified patients who require enhanced adherence counselling
- Support of TPT implementation
- Make sure that all initiated patients have been captured on Tier.net or EDRWeb
- Request files for patients with no outcomes, audit them and ask the Data Clerks to update outcomes on TIER.NET or EDRWeb
- Every month request a list of patients that needs repeat script for TPT and ensure that the treatment is continued for the prescribed duration according to guidelines.
- Make sure that all TB presumptive /diagnosed patients have been tested for HIV - if not make note to test them on their next visits.
- Work with the TB team to improve the quality of care, retention in care and adherence to treatment for TB patients.
- Perform other related duties as required for effective implementation of the USAID Project.

**Required minimum education and training**
- Enrolled Nurse Qualification with current SANC registration
- HIV Counselling certificate

**Minimum work experience**
- 2 years’ working experience in a public health setting
- 2 year’s working experience in HIV/TB environment

**Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities ** o Previous work experience in NGOs or funded programmes will be an advantage. o Knowledge of HIV strategies, including the UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets, and TB management. o Other Health related courses (advantageous) o A good understanding of referral systems and pathways as well as linkage and retention in care strategies o Computer literacy is essential o Clear criminal record o Ability to handle a varied, busy, pressurised workload with competing demands on time and extensive travel to various sites o A valid driver’s license. o Available to commence work immediately
