Mechanical Draughtsman

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Create detailed mechanical drawings and schematics using computer-aided design (CAD) software with engineering and manufacturing techniques.
- Work from rough sketches and specifications created by engineers and sales reps.
- Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures for new products.
- Coordinate with engineers and other team members to ensure that drawings meet project requirements and adhere to industry standards.
- Design plans using computer-aided design and drafting (CAD) software, specifically INVENTOR (Non-negotiable).
- Draft and prepare layout drawings of the given structures, components, and devices.
- Produce draft designs and diagrams according to the given specifications.
- Prepare drawings for sheet metal components.
- Calculate dimensions and allowances with accurate precision.
- Compile data and specifications sheets.
- Revise drawings and layouts to accommodate changes and enhancements.
- Follow design and development procedures.
- Prepare drawings using Inventor packages.
- Prepare General Arrangement drawings.
- Prepare assembly drawings.
- Prepare manufacturing drawings.
- Prepare and assist in drawing revisions as required.
- Maintain knowledge of company standards and incorporate them into engineering designs.
- Site visits and measuring up existing equipment when required.

**Qualifications**:

- Matric
- A relevant technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar is a plus.
- Experience with 3D modeling.
- Min 3-5 years experience in Sheet Metal and Detailing (Advantageous).
- Strong knowledge of CAD software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor (non-negotiable).
- A Valid Drivers License and own reliable transport.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and high-quality drawings.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Understanding of SABS/ SANS drawings specs (Advantageous).
- MS Office Suite knowledge.
