Bookkeeper

You will be responsible for but not limited to:
Monthly bookkeeping process up to trail balance

Monthly bank reconciliations and journal entries

VAT reconciliations

SDL Returns

Debtors

Creditors

Cashbooks

Preparation of month-end payments

Check purchase orders to creditors invoices

VAT Submissions & Reconciliations

Payroll (Monthly salaries & weekly wages)

Ensure bank statements, payments and transactions are allocated

Ensure that all petty cash expenses checked and captured

Online Banking Duties and Functionality.

Trust and Business Payments Control.

Handling, Processing and Control over Medical Expert’s accounts, Sheriffs, Assessors and other Experts.

Petty Cash count, Reconciliation and Processing.

Closing of Files/Matters.

Work in Progress - Loading, Conversion and Posting of Matter WIP’s.

Processing and Posting of Fee Books, as well as Travelling Books.

Management of Investment Accounts, including posting of transactions, opening and closing of accounts with the bank, FICA Compliance, etc.

Filing and various administrative duties

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
National Senior Certificate or equivalent

Bookkeeping Qualification

Minimum of 3 - 5 years exp within a law firm

AJS software on the Cloud is preferable

Computer literate: MS Office (Word, (Excel Knowledge & Application essential), Outlook)

Knowledge of legal interact accounting system & Trust bookkeeping a plus
