Motor Mechanic

**BA Battery & Tyre is looking to hire a Motor Mechanic with the following**

**Requirements**:

- 3 - 5 years Mechanical experience in both petrol and diesel vehicles
- A good understanding of Workshop consumables and vehicle parts
- A thorough understanding of Workshop environment (clean and safe)
- Must have Driver’s License, SA ID, proof of residence, industry certificates, banking account details and own transport is essential
- Matric Certificate
- Mandatory mechanic courses, apprenticeship, and hands-on training experience.
- Be at least 18 years old
- NQF Level 1 with a pass in Mathematics
- Have 4 years of apprenticeship
- Possess excellent knowledge of mechanics for petrol and diesel engines
- Have a national certificate that shows the completion of mechanic courses (preferred)
- Must possess basic computer literacy skills (preferred)

**Key responsibilities**:

- Services and repairs on all types of vehicles
- Standby duties / after hours
- To do services on all types of vehicles
- To do all repairs/maintenance on all types of vehicles efficiently and promptly in conjunction with Workshop Manager
- To advise Workshop Manager and Assistant (ordering Clerk) on all difficulties/ problems if repairs / maintenance cannot be done
- Report all major repairs required to the Workshop Manager for final approval and quotations
- To take all Vehicles for a “test drive” after repairs / maintenance have be done
- To do standby repairs / maintenance after hours and over weekends (designated mechanics only)
- To ensure that a list of spares, parts, consumables and brake pads / linings used in Workshop or on breakdowns be handed to the Workshop Manager or Admin Assistant daily (standby Mechanics)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Internship, Contract
Contract length: 12 months

**Salary**: R8,000.00 - R12,000.00 per month
